Bush Doctor Hot Toddy Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Appleton Estate® 8 Year Old Reserve
  • .5 oz Averna
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz Spiced Honey Syrup*
  • 2 oz Hot Water
  • 2 pieces Fresh Ginger
  1. Pre-heat an Irish Coffee glass by briefly rinsing it with hot water

  2. In a shaker tin, muddle 2-3 fresh ginger slices.

  3. Add lemon juice, honey syrup, rum, and Averna. Stir to incorporate.

  4. Double strain into a Irish Coffee Mug, then top with hot water.

  5. Garnish with candied ginger and mint on cocktail skewer.

*Spiced Honey Syrup:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Allspice Berries
  • .5 tsp Whole Cloves
  • 2 c Brown Cane Sugar
  • .5 c Honey
  • 2 cups Water

Instructions:
Add all the ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil for 20 minutes, stirring frequently until all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow syrup to cool. Double Strain and refrigerate.
